The Purpose of a Outer Burial Container
A outer burial container or "vault" provides a secure environment for the casket and the physical remains contained within the casket. Design, quality and materials used in the construction of a burial vault vary
and are subsequently reflected in the manufacturer's warranty and the cost of the product.
"In most areas of the country, state or local law do not require that you buy a container to surround the
casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave
will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.
